Website features better functionality, allows customers more access to account information
In an effort to better serve its customers, Sonitrol Security of the Triangle is releasing an improved version of its website. In a recent survey of Sonitrol customers, 87% wanted to have better access to information via the web, many citing specifically a well-informed FAQ.
One of the new website features a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section addressing some of the most common questions that customers have.
Some featured FAQs:
- Who do I call to make changes to my existing system?
- Who do I call to obtain a quote for a new system?
- How do I send a test signal?
- Is there a website where I can make changes to my system?
- Who does Sonitrol call in case of an emergency?
- Does Sonitrol install fire systems?
- Does Sonitrol monitor fire systems?
The website also includes an online chat feature that will allow customers to send and receive text-based messages from Sonitrol staff. Sonitrol customers now have more access to their account information and have the ability to make immediate programming changes to their accounts (in the past, customers had to call or email Sonitrol their programming requests and were serviced on a first come, first serve basis).
Other features of the new website include profile and directory information of Sonitrol staff, Sonitrol product information and online consultation and estimates. Sonitrol customers are also now able to submit orders via the website for products and supplies.
Featured products and supplies:
• Prox Readers: Device used for communication with a badge/photo ID, fob or access entry device.
• Badges/Photo ID: Contactless integrated circuit device used for security access. The badge contains a number that is read by a card reader.
• Fobs: Contactless integrated circuit device used for security access. The fob contains a number that is read by a card reader. A fob can be attached to a keychain or clip.
2. Security Devices
• Mag/Strike lock: An electronic lock is a locking device which operates by means of electric current. The advantages of an electric lock connected to an access control system include: key control, where keys can be added and removed without re-keying the lock cylinder; fine access control, where time and place are factors; and transaction logging, where activity is recorded.
• Contacts: Small security device used to determine the state of a door or other security object. A contact is two small magnets that close or open the connection of a circuit. If the two magnets become separated, the circuit of a door is open and that translates into an open door or security object.
• Motion detectors: An electronic motion detector contains a motion sensor that transforms the detection of motion into an electric signal. This can be achieved by measuring optical or acoustical changes in the field of view.
• Audio sensor: A listening device that is activated by noise. The noise is transmitted through the audio sensor to a database that records the noise and provides feedback of the noise to an operator. The operator determines if the noise will require the attention of the police, facility staff or if the noise can be disregarded.
3. Sonitrol Panel
• AAM: Access control device. One AAM controls up to four access doors.
• Adv. Plus: Allows up to 4 AAM's to be added to panel. Provides 16 contact points and allows for expansion. Provides 4 audio sensor points and allows for expansion.
• 3350: Provides 8 contact points and 4 audio sensor points.
The additional website features offer Sonitrol customers more options and flexibility with handling their accounts.
